Nea Peramos is a small coastal settlement located about 17 km west of the city of Kavala, in northern Greece.  It is located in the Central Macedonia region, in the municipality of Pangaio.  The settlement was founded in 1924 by Greeks, refugees from Pergamon in Asia Minor, after the population exchange between Greece and Turkey.  Today, Nea Peramos is a popular holiday destination known for its beaches and tranquil atmosphere. 

 

🏖Beaches and attractions

 

Beach Amolofi: A long sandy beach with crystal clear water, suitable for families and water sports enthusiasts.  The beach has both lively areas with bars and quieter sections for relaxation. 

 

Ancient city Anactoropolis: An archaeological site located near Nea Peramos, where cultural and artistic festivals are held in the summer. 

 

The Church of Saint Mary: A small church built by refugees, dedicated to Saint Mary, where traditional festivals are held, especially on August 15. 

 

🚆 Transport connectivity

 

Nea Peramos is well connected to other parts of Greece via the railway station in the nearby town of Megara.  The station offers connections to Athens and other major cities, providing convenient access for tourists and investors.

Fair of Saint George: A traditional fair held in April in honor of the village's patron saint.

 

Festival of Tsipouro: A celebration dedicated to the local tradition of producing raki, held in October.

 

Feast of Saint Mary: A major religious event on August 15, accompanied by celebrations and local customs.
